Suspected Drunken Driver Hits Pedestrian At Sacramento Intersection
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A suspected drunken driver reportedly hit a couple of vehicles and then struck a pedestrian in Sacramento on Friday afternoon.
The pedestrian was hit at Fair Oaks Boulevard and Howe Avenue in the Arden Arcade area. Sacramento police received a call about a driver hitting other vehicles in midtown before catching up to the suspect at Howe and Fair Oaks, according to Sgt. Andrew Pettit.
Her face was expressionless as cops cuffed her and put her in the backseat of their patrol car because of what she allegedly did from behind the wheel of her own car, a green Toyota Prius.
Patricia Borders is under arrest for DUI after sending two people to the hospital, including the girlfriend of a man who witnessed Borders' wild driving
"I'm telling you, it was crazy," he said. "Next thing you know, I see the front of that car come crashing up there. Hits my girl, brings her over there, goes plowing off like she's going joy riding."
Her car hit a crosswalk pole and kept going. She left plenty if evidence behind - through the pole, over a grass hill and then finally coming to rest into another car.
It turns out Borders is paid to help others through tough times as state-licensed marriage and family therapist.
Her record shows just last year she was cited by the board for not disclosing a previous conviction. There was no immediate word on what trouble she was in before.
Now this.
"That broad, she's drunk off her (expletive)," the witness said.
