Suspect Sought In Elk Grove Hotel Robbery
ELK GROVE, Calif. (CBS13) -- Police are searching for a suspect caught on surveillance footage while attempting to rob an Elk Grove hotel earlier this month.
The unidentified armed man -- described as a Caucasian male in his mid to late 20s, about 5'10", 165 pounds and short or shaved hair -- demanded an employee at the Extended Stay America on the 2200 block of Longport Court open the safe and give him the money that's inside.
The suspect showed a firearm he was carrying in a shoulder holster, and the employee began to comply with his demands.
A customer approached the front entrance before the safe was opened, spooking the gunman.
The man was seen driving off in a silver or blue two-door vehicle. He was wearing a "Roush" baseball cap with flames on the brim and sides, according to authorities.
Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the Elk Grove Police Department at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP. Crime Alert callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
