Suspect In Rio Linda Bar Stabbing Arrested
SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) — Sacramento County sheriff's deputies on Thursday arrested the suspect in a Rio Linda bar stabbing and beating.
David Kirkland, 32, was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and battery causing serious bodily injury. He was being held on $245,000 bail.
Deputies responded to Lew's Club bar at 6734 Rio Linda Boulevard on Monday at about 11:30 p.m. regarding a man stabbed. Deputies found a 24-year-old man with a knife wound to his abdomen and a 42-year-old man who had been assaulted with an unknown object.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies obtained a description of the suspect, whose face is almost completely covered in tattoos.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to a call from security personnel at Mercy San Juan Hospital stating that Kirkland was inside the building.
Deputies took Kirkland into custody at the hospital and he was later positively identified by one of the victims.
