Suspect In Carmichael Double Homicide Arrested

CARMICHAEL (CBS13) – Authorities have arrested a man in connection to a Carmichael double homicide from December.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, 35-year-old Jeremy Xavier Ybarra was arrested back on Feb. 12 for domestic violence and firearms charges. During the arrest, detectives discovered that Ybarra had some illegal weapons in his possession.

As detectives investigated Ybarra further, he was linked to the case of two people found shot to death in a home along the 5200 block of Kenneth Avenue.

Ybarra is believed to have known the man and woman found shot to death, but detectives say they have not yet identified a motive for the alleged murder.

Detectives note that no one else is believed to be wanted in connection to the case.

Ybarra is now facing murder and felony weapon possession charges. He is being held at Sacramento County Jail without the possibility of bail.
