Suspect Arrested In Deadly Clearlake Shooting

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (AP) -- Clearlake police say a key suspect has been arrested for the shooting death of a 4-year-old boy.

Sgt. Tim Hobbs says Kevin Stone was taken into custody Friday in Santa Rosa after police got an anonymous tip and notified the Sonoma County Sheriff's office.

The 29-year-old Stone and his girlfriend were discovered in a stolen SUV. Stone was wanted after reneging on a deal to turn himself in and an arrest warrant after being charged with murder in the killing of Skyler Rapp.

Stone is scheduled to appear in court next week.

A second suspect, 21-year-old Paul Braden, is being held without bail. He has been charged with murder, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Police are not releasing a motive for the June 18 shooting outside the boy's home. His mother and her boyfriend were among five others also wounded.
