Summer Temperatures Back Temporarily

Fall is just around the corner, but temperatures will feel more like the middle of summer for the next several days.

A strong ridge of high pressure is keeping the skies clear and the weather hot. Sacramento topped out at 98 degrees Saturday, nearly 10 degrees above our normal temperatures for this time of year.

Sunday and Monday will be the hottest days this week, with many valley locations easily getting to 100 degrees and above.

The delta breeze has most of the week off, so don't look for any cool marine air to help with the heat.

Most of the region will be rain free, but the Sierra crest could see some thunderstorms by the middle of the week.

By the end of the week, a low pressure system in the Gulf of Alaska will help to activate the delta breeze and drop our temperatures, which should slide back into the low 90s and upper 80s by Friday.
