Summer Camp Employee Accused Of Sex With Teen

VACAVILLE, Calif. (CBS13) -- A 21-year-old summer camp employee has been accused of having inappropriate contact with a teen boy, according to city officials.

The Vacaville Police Department said the parents of the alleged 14-year-old victim contacted authorities after finding suspicious text messages with 21-year-old Katrina Herrador on their son's phone.

Herrador, a program leader for Vacaville's summer camp Teen Extreme, met the teen during the camp sessions and allegedly engaged in an unlawful relationship with him, according to investigators.

City officials suspended Herrador from duty after learning about the allegations on July 29 and the employee resigned on Monday. Detectives arrested Herrado on Tuesday.

Police said there are no indications that any unlawful contact took place during the summer camp sessions but are continuing to investigate. City officials plan to give further details at a press conference Wednesday evening.

Anyone with information on the allegations is asked to contact Detective David Marsh at (707) 469-6616.
