Strong Winds To Continue Into Workweek
Hang on to your hats, the windy conditions will continue heading into the workweek.
Sunday wind gusts nearly reached 40 mph at Sacramento International Airport. Fortunately, the wind will slow some overnight, but will pick up once again for Monday.
The valley can expect to see sustained winds from 15 to 20 mph. Winds won't be as much of an issue in the higher elevations.
Valley temperatures will climb to the low 70s in the middle of the week, with much less wind.
A system will clip the northern part of the state by the end of the week, bringing a chance of some rain to areas north of Interstate 80. The best shot at rain could come next Sunday and Monday.
A low pressure system will also develop in the Gulf of Alaska and roll down the coast, which means we could possibly see rain next week. It's still a ways out and things could change, but some forecast models suggests a wet start to the week.
