Stockton Police Looking For Suspect Who Shot 5 People

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) — Stockton police are looking for the shooter responsible for killing two people and wounding three others.

Stockton Police department spokesman Joe Silva said a gunman fired into an outside birthday party of about 20 people, including children, Sunday night before fleeing in a light-colored vehicle.

Police initially suspected 20-year-old Sergio Hernandez was the gunman. But Silva said Hernandez turned himself in to police Thursday and was released after an interview. Silva said Hernandez is no longer a suspect.

Police say Juan "Junior" Sarrarez and his girlfriend Reyna Perez were both killed in the shooting. The deaths were Stockton's fourth and fifth homicides of the year.
