Stockton Man Fights Back Against Thieves Using Facebook
STOCKTON (CBS13) -- A local man is now using social media to try and catch the crooks he says are targeting his neighborhood.
After two minutes of knocking, a burglar made a bold move in broad daylight and kicked down Susan Mitchell's front door, allowing him and two other thieves into her home.
The trio spent the next two minutes unplugging and grabbing everything in sight.
But, what the burglars didn't realize was the home was covered with cameras that captured the crime from every angle, even showing the getaway car.
A concerned neighbor posted the video on his Facebook page, hoping to help neighbors protect themselves, and to send a message to the burglars he believes targeted at least three homes in the neighborhood this week alone.
"The first thing I noticed was my TV was gone and my laptop was missing," says Susan.
Susan gave the break-in video to her neighbor to post online in hopes that the crystal clear pictures help stop thieves before they strike again.
"We're all watching, and there are people here during the daytime and the evening, and nobody better mess with our houses," said Susan.
Neighborhood watch was formed, who call the police when they see someone suspicious. Also, neighbors have added security doors to their homes.
