Stockton Man Arrested On Felony Child Abuse Charge

STOCKTON (CBS13) - A 2-year-old boy had to be hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and his father was subsequently arrested for child abuse, according to the Stockton Police Department.

Stockton police were contacted by the Oakland Police Department in regards to an investigation where boy was injured and admitted to the Oakland Children's Hospital on Friday.

According to police, the investigation revealed the incident took place in the 500 block of W. Sixth Street in Stockton. Police didn't indicate who or how the boy was taken from Stockton to Oakland.

Detectives from the Stockton Police Department Child Abuse/Sexual Assault Unit were notified and through their investigation arrested the child's father, Tushambi Evans.

Evans, 28, was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on felony child abuse charges.
