Stockton Man Arrested In Death Of 2-Year-Old Girl
STOCKTON (CBS13) — A man has been arrested on homicide charges after a 2-year-old girl died early Wednesday morning at a Stockton apartment complex.
The man and his girlfriend were taken to police headquarters for questions and the man, whose name wasn't released, was subsequently arrested, according to police spokesman Officer Pete Smith.
The couple lived with the man's father at Elmwood Garden Apartments on Elmwood Avenue.
Smith said someone from inside the apartment called 911 around 2 a.m. to say the girl was unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The couple and the toddler moved in with the girl's grandfather two weeks ago, according to neighbors.
