Stockton Man Arrested For Murder Of Woman Found In Pleasanton Garbage Can
PLEASANTON (CBS13) - A 30-year-old Stockton man was arrested Wednesday and charged with the murder of a 25-year-old woman whose body was found stuffed in a garbage can five months ago in Pleasanton.
Ana Flores-Pineda's body was found May 24 but her identity wasn't immediately known. Stockton police received a report of a missing person June 12 and, working with Pleasanton PD, identified Flores-Pineda as the body found in Pleasanton.
Her live-in boyfriend, Javier Prado Sandoval, was arrested Wednesday and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for the murder, Stockton police said.
Pleasanton police executed a search warrant with Stockton police early Wednesday morning at the home Flores-Pineda shared with Sandoval near McGaw Street and Rosemary Lane.
Flores-Pineda is the 61 homicide for Stockton this year, surpassing last year's record of 58.
Police declined to release any other information on the arrest, citing the ongoing investigation.
