Stanislaus Co. Sheriff's Dept. Arrest Murder Suspect Connected To Burned Body

MODESTO (CBS13) -- The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department is now saying a man found dead in a burning home was murdered.

Clint C. Wilson, 31, of Modesto has been arrested and charged with the murder of Guadalupe Tubera. 

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department said firefighters responded to the 1700 block of John Streetat about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to extinguish the blaze, finding Guadalupe Tubera, 31, of Modesto inside the home.

The body had been burned by the fire, but at that time the cause of the death had not been determined, but as since been elevated to a homicide after an autopsy was completed on Thursday.

Neighbors said the home was vacant, but a repairman lived in an RV on the property.

Friday, Stanislaus County Sheriff detectives received information that Wilson was in a hotel just outside Jamestown, California.  After confirming that Wilson was in the hotel, authorities were able to take him into custody without incident.

Wilson was transported to the Stanislaus County Mens Jail and booked on murder charges.
