South Sacramento Woman Shot To Death; Female Suspect Sought
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A south Sacramento women was found shot to death early Wednesday morning by Sacramento County sheriff's deputies.
Deputies responded to the 7900 block of Loucreta Drive shortly after 3 a.m. and found a woman in her 30s who had sustained a gunshot wound to her upper body. Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a hospital, where she died of her injury several hours later.
A man who was with the victim when this incident took place was detained at the scene by deputies. Preliminary information suggested that he and the victim were outside on the street when they were confronted by a man and a woman who came out of a residence, Deputy Jason Ramos.
A confrontation occurred between the two men and at some point the woman from the home shot the other woman, Ramos said. The suspect and her male companion then ran back into the home, and the man who was with the victim went to a nearby residence to call for help.
Moments later, a vehicle was seen leaving the home where the suspect and her male companion had gone. It was not immediately known who was inside the vehicle, or whether any occupants remained inside the home. A SWAT team was headed back out to the residence later Wednesday morning to search the home.
A description of the vehicle was not available.
