Source: Possible Trade Involving Gay, Griffin, Celtics
Rudy Gay appears to want out of Sacramento, and it looks like it'll happen sooner than later.
Sean Deveney of Sporting News has heard rumblings of a blockbuster trade that could include the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers and the Sacramento Kings:
"The Clippers have been weighing trading Griffin all season , and the possibility of a three-team package involving Sacramento sending Gay to the Clippers has emerged. The Celtics would give up some number of their upcoming draft picks, but opposing front-office members say they don't want to give up either Brooklyn pick Boston can own in the next two years."
With the Celtics missing out on the Kevin Durant sweepstakes and the availability of Blake Griffin and Rudy Gay, a three-team trade makes the most sense for all teams.
The Clippers get a veteran and potential all-star in Gay, the Celtics get another big man to pair with Al Horford and the Kings unload a big contract while acquiring more draft picks.
Despite the questionable selections with this year's draft, the Kings look to be getting younger after last year. The Kings could even flip those picks in another trade if they feel a better deal is out there.
Obviously this is only speculation, but the Celtics appear to be on the aggressive side - don't be surprised if the Kings jump on the trade block.
