Some Tahoe Residents Trying To Keep Bear Considered Dangerous From Being Caught
INCLINE VILLAGE (CBS13) - A battle over a bear trap in Tahoe has some neighbors fired up while others fear harassment. As soon as we arrived in Incline Village, we caught a woman pouring Pine-Sol outside a bear trap to keep it away.
The Nevada Department of Wildlife believes a mother bear is a threat after she tore sliding off of a home and broke into two cars in an Incline Village neighborhood. Animal rights activists say they want the bear to be left alone.
The woman who reported a bear break-in says she's now being harassed after her name was posted on Tahoe's wall of shame facebook page.
Wildlife officials say they have to trap and euthanize the bear for public safety. They also say they expect to see a lot more aggressive bear behavior this season.
