SMUD Worker Allegedly Falls Asleep At The Wheel, Hits Power Pole

ORANGEVALE (CBS13) - A SMUD worker allegedly fell asleep at the wheel in Orangevale and slammed into a power pole, knocking out power.

SMUD crews were called out to Oak and Filbert Avenues after one of their own workers hit the pole with a utility truck, according to CHP.

The driver wasn't seriously injured.

Power was knocked out to the area for several hours until SMUD crews could repair the damaged pole.
