Small Quake Rattles Bay Area

LOS ALTOS, Calif. (AP) -- The U.S Geological Survey says a small earthquake has rattled the San Francisco Bay Area. No damages or injuries have been reported.

The 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck at 9:28 a.m. Sunday in Los Altos, about 40 miles southeast of San Francisco.

The USGS says hundreds of people reported feeling the temblor in Los Altos and the surrounding area.
