Evacuations Ordered For Sliger Fire Burning In El Dorado County

5:25 p.m. UPDATE: Evacuated residents can head to the Regional Park Gym at 3770 Richardson Dr. Animals can head to 11232 B Avenue in North Auburn.

The fire has not crossed into Placer County.

5:05 p.m. UPDATE: Evacuations have been ordered for McKeon Ponderosa Road and all roads leading to the west.

4:40 p.m. UPDATE: Road closures and evacuations are in effect as firefighters continue to fight the Sliger Fire. The fire has grown to 50 acres.

GEORGETOWN (CBS13) — A 15-acre fire is burning northwest of Georgetown.

The Sliger Fire is burning off of Sliger Mine Road and Hida Way in El Dorado County.

Evacuations have been ordered in the area, and there will be hard closures at SR 193 at Sliger Mine Road and Spanish Dry Diggins at the airport, according to the California Highway Patrol
