UPDATE: Seventh Suspect Wanted For Gang-Related Triple Slaying In Modesto
MODESTO (CBS13) - Modesto police have identified a seventh person accused in the murder of three people inside their home almost a year ago.
Six people have already been arrested for taking part in the killings, but on Friday Modesto police identified a seventh suspect, Ricky Javier Madrigal, 20. Madrigal's last known address was in Modesto, and say he is known to frequent the area, police say. Madrigal is possibly armed and dangerous.
"It's a devastating case that rocked the family, rocked the neighborhood, rocked the whole city," Modesto police Sgt. Rick Applegate said.
The slayings happened on March 3, 2012, at a home on North McClure Road where an 18-year-old pregnant woman was staying with relatives. As gunshots rang out, the teen hid in a closet and called for help.
The victims were identified as 31-year-old Edward Reinig, 19-year-old Alyxandria Tellez and 16-year-old David Siebels. All three were Modesto residents. The sole survivor was Siebels' sister.
Weeks before the triple murder, the pregnant teen was allegedly held against her will for nine days, and tortured in a Ceres apartment.
Police are not commenting on the connections between the two crimes. However, the victim's then-boyfriend Richard Garcia, 31, and his friend Armando Osegueda, 31, were arrested on charges of torturing the teen, and are now part of the half-dozen men accused of murdering those close to her.
Officers cuffed 43-year-old Robert Palomino and 27-year-old Juan Jose Nila as they exited Stanislaus Superior Court Tuesday after facing a judge on unrelated charges.
Already in custody on different charges, Garcia, Armando, 36-year-old Jose Osegueda, and 23-year-old Joseph Luis Jauriqui were rebooked on suspicion of murder.
"The other four suspects in the case were already in custody at the jail. Basically, investigators walked down and had them rebooked on these homicide charges," said Applegate.
In addition to murder charges, the suspects face charges of gang enhancement.
