Showers To Interrupt Summer Weather
The warm and dry weather in Northern California is about to come to an abrupt end.
A storm system off the coast will move our way by Sunday afternoon. Expect temperatures to dive, reaching only 80 degrees in Sacramento.
More cloud cover can be expected too, with a chance for afternoon rain in the valley and mountains.
The bulk of the rain will hit Monday and Tuesday with widespread rain showers for most of the region. The high will barely hit 70 in Sacramento.
Sacramento could see half an inch of rain, while several inches possible in the foothills and mountains. Snow may also fall in the high Sierra at elevations above 10,000 feet.
Rain will start to thin out by Wednesday and temperatures will climb quickly.
By the end of the week, valley highs will be in the mid 90s with plenty of sunshine.
