Should Athletes Be Allowed To Wear 'I Can't Breathe' T-Shirts?

By Bobby Solorio/KHTK Sports 1140

Last night during the Sacramento Kings vs. LA Lakers game, several Lakers walked onto the court wearing "I Can't Breathe" t-shirts.

As being reported by NBA.com, Kobe Bryant and nearly all the players on the Lakers wore the shirts during warm up. This was following the lead of other athletes in NBA donning a similar shirt. LeBron James and Kevin Garnett previously wore the shirts in support of Eric Garner.

Garner died on July 17 after being placed in a choke hold by a New York police officer. A video of the incident showed Garner pleading to the officers, "I can't breathe." There has been protest across the country because of the grand jury decision not to indict the police officer in question.

The new question is whether this has any business in professional sports.

What do you think? Should athletes being allow to wear these kind of shirts at professional sporting events?
