Shots Fired During Recycling Center Robbery
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- Customers and bystanders, including a number of children, ran for cover Saturday after an armed suspect opened fire during a robbery at a recycling center.
The unidentified gunman entered the Capital City Recycling warehouse on the 3100 block of Longview Drive and pushed customers out of the way to aim a gun at employees, demanding cash and firing several shots into the ceiling.
Dozens of children who were attending a 4-H horse show at a ranch across the street ran for cover after hearing the gunfire. No injuries were reported.
"My friend Mattie's mom told me, 'Run this way, run this way,' " said Rene Quiggle. "I had no idea what was going on. It was really scary."
The suspect was last seen fleeing in a gold sedan but has not been apprehended.
