Sheep And Goat Roadside Grazing In Rocklin Too Distracting?
ROCKLIN (CBS13) - Officials are worried a unique fire abatement program may be too distracting for some.
Call it a spontaneous field trip. It's a father/son moment to take in a bit of nature. But the sound of cars zipping by along Lone Tree Boulevard is a good indication this might not be the best place to park. That's why the city of Rocklin has a friendly reminder: Don't make this yearly fire protection plan using goats and sheep to chew up high grass a high danger zone.
People who live near these new neighbors agree. Others don't see a problem so far and want to keep it that way. Rocklin has a couple of spots where sheep are using grazing fuel management, as they call it. an environmentally friendly way of reducing fire hazards.
It's pretty cool to look at, but crossing a busy road to take a closer look is not the best idea
Officials also warn residents not to let their pets wander into the sheep or goats' territory.
