Sharks Sign F Mikkel Boedker To Four-Year Contract
The San Jose Sharks have been one of the busier teams at the dawn of the free agency period, as they have announced the signing of forward Mikkel Boedker. The deal is reportedly a four-year, $16 million contract.
Boedker, 26, has played eight seasons in the NHL already, spending the first seven and a half years with the Arizona Coyotes. He was traded to the Colorado Avalanche at the trade deadline last season.
Adding to their already deep forward group, the Sharks now have another winger who possesses lots of speed for a possible top-six spot. In his career, Boedker has 213 points in 445 games - a pace that's roughly a point every other game.
Shortly after the news, Sharks playoff hero Logan Couture chimed in on the recent signings:
The Sharks now need another forward and a backup goaltender to fill the rest of the roster, but there hasn't been any indication they would come from the free agent pool.
