Sedan With Toddler In Back Carjacked In Vallejo
VALLEJO, Calif. (AP) -- Vallejo police are trying to identify two suspects in the carjacking of a sedan with a 2-year-old girl inside.
Police say the girl turned up safe about 45 minutes after the carjacking around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. It's not clear how she exited the vehicle, but she somehow made her way to a stranger's home, where she knocked on the door for help.
Vallejo police Sgt. Jeff Bassett says the girl was riding with her father in a 1995 Buick LeSabre when the car was cut off by another LeSabre -- this one white and dating from the 1980s.
Two men got out and forced the father from the car at gunpoint with the toddler in the backseat.
The stolen car was later found. The home the girl ended up at was about 3 miles from the site of the carjacking.
