Second Victim In Brutal Rancho Cordova Senior Attack Dies
RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) - A Rancho Cordova senior who was hospitalized after a deadly attack took her husband's life has passed away, police say.
On Nov. 3, Melvin and Jean Bain, both 78, were attacked inside their home in the 2900 block of Routier Road. Melvin was found dead by a neighbor in the doorway. Investigators say he died from blunt force trauma.
Jean, who suffered from Alzheimer's, had been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries at UC Davis Medical Center since the incident. She died Tuesday as a result of her injuries, police said in a release.
On Nov. 4, homicide detectives arrested 36-year-old Shauna Burton in connection with Melvin's murder. She will now face an additional charge of murder.
