Sarah Palin To Speak At Central Valley College
LEMOORE, Calif. (AP) -- Former Alaska governor and potential presidential contender Sarah Palin is expected to speak at a community college sports complex in Central California's agricultural region.
Palin's scheduled appearance Sunday will inaugurate the newly built Golden Eagle Arena at West Hills College in Lemoore, 35 miles south of Fresno.
The 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee last spoke at a California school in June. The appearance at California State University, Stanislaus generated controversy after the school's nonprofit foundation refused to divulge the terms of Palin's contract or her speaking fee.
West Hills College officials say their foundation paid the Washington Speakers Bureau $115,000 to land Palin. They say they do not know the exact amount Palin will receive.
They also say the foundation has recouped the fee by selling tickets to a private post-speech dinner with Palin.
