San Joaquin County Serial Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested
LODI (CBS13) -– A 54-year-old man suspected of robbing 11 banks in San Joaquin County was arrested in Lodi on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Robert Davis was apprehended in Lodi on Tuesday morning. Beginning in June, Davis is suspected of robbing 11 different banks in the Stockton and San Joaquin County area.
Davis used a note to pass to tellers demanding cash, and he is suspected of getting more than $15,000.
Davis was able to evade investigators by using multiple different aliases to hide and conceal his true identity, police said. Investigators from the Stockton Police Department, San Joaquin Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshals Service led the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force that tracked Davis.
After receiving information about a residence where Davis was believed to be hiding in Lodi, officers surrounded a residence in the 2300 block of West Highway 12.
Deputies called Davis out of the residence and he surrendered and was taken into custody without incident. A woman at the residence was also taken into custody for outstanding warrants.
Davis was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail to await his initial appearance.
The Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force is a U.S. Marshals-sponsored partnership comprised of investigators from federal, state and local agencies.
