Salvation Army Bell Ringer Assaulted And Robbed In Modesto
MODESTO (CBS13) -- Police in Modesto are looking for a crook who robbed a Salvation Army bell ringer.
It happened on Saturday in front of a grocery store on Tully Road.
Police say the man got out of his car, asked for directions and then snatched the red kettle with close to $500 inside.
The bell ringer chased the man who got into a get away car, and the driver hit the gas dragging the man for several feet.
The bell ringer suffered some bumps and bruises and is already back at work.
Fortunately, there was a surveillance camera rolling near by and police are examining the tape to nab the suspects.
