Sacramento's Interim City Manager Resigns

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) --  Sacramento is now looking for a second Interim City Manager in 13 months after Gus Vina, the current Interim City Manager, resigned on Friday.

Vina's last day will be April 8.

Vina issued this letter regarding his resignation stating:

"I have decided to resign from the position of City Manager. The resignation comes with mixed feelings. I love the City, its employees, and what it means to serve as a local Sacramento public official for more than a decade. After thoughtful consideration, and thinking of the future of this organization, I feel it is time for me to move on and pursue other opportunities. I am hopeful that the City Council's search for a new City Manager will result in an individual that the entire Council can support.

I have spent 12 years with this organization, and it's been a great experience. I always knew that we had wonderful, very strong and committed staff, but it was further confirmed during my tenure as city manager. We accomplished many things-and for that, I thank city staff for their dedication, perseverance during the most difficult of times, and tireless efforts to care for this community."
