Sacramento Republic Urges Fans To Push For MLS Expansion Team On Social Media
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Sacramento Republic is urging fans to get involved in its push for a Major League Soccer expansion team for the capital city.
The fans are definitely loud, but the cheering also needs to be heard all the way in the executive offices of MLS in New York City.

Team president and founder Warren Smith says to keep Sacramento in the MLS board room conversation, smartphones are just as effective and loud as megaphones.
Smith says MLS pays close attention to social media trends. The league is set to add Atlanta, Los Angeles, Minneapolis as it expands to 24 teams by the end of the decade. The league is already talking about expansion beyond that.
The best thing fans can do this weekend, he said, is to share pictures of their fan experience at Saturday's match on social media to draw the attention of the league office.
