Sacramento Police Searching For Jewelry Thief

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS13) – Sacramento Police are asking for help identifying a jewelry thief who hit two Sacramento stores in two days.

The thefts took place in late June. On June 28, police say the suspect was looking at men's rings at a jewelry store on K Street when he put one on his finger and ran out.

The next day, the same suspect went into a jewelry store on Arden Way and asked to look at women's rings. After a few minutes, he grabbed one of the rings and ran out of the store.

The suspect is described as as a male Black 28-32 years old, 6'1", 175 lbs, short black hair, wearing a long sleeve orange shirt over a white t-shirt, and blue jeans. He had a piercing on the right side of his lower lip and an unknown tattoo on the top of one of his hands.

The Sacramento Police Department asks anyone with information about these crimes to contact Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
