Sacramento On Track To Break Dry Weather Record
Not only are record high temperatures around 70 degrees likely across the Bay area and valley Wednesday, but the countdown is on for another major record to fall -- consecutive days of no rain during the rainy season.
Downtown Sacramento is now up to 39 straight days of dry weather -- the fourth all time record. The record of 44 days was back in 1976 when a drought year was also characterized by a persistent west coast ridge of high pressure.
Totals from Saturday's showers were extremely light, and the official rain gages for the National Weather Service in Sacramento registered zero that day.
With no rain in the seven-day forecast, it looks like Sacramento will tie the dry record on Monday and beat it on Tuesday.
