Sacramento Murder Suspect Arrested In El Centro
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A man living in El Centro, near the Mexican border, under an assumed name has been arrested for a murder in Sacramento, police said Thursday.
Augustine Aranda, 28, has been charged with the murder of Mark Colquitt, 48, who was shot and killed on March 8 near 21st Avenue and Franklin Boulevard in south Sacramento.
Colquitt was transported to the hospital but died there.
Aranda was identified as the suspect in the murder and Sacramento Police detectives issued a press release seeking information on his whereabouts.
As a result of that press release and working with officers from the California Department of Justice, Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, officers learned that Aranda was living in El Centro under an assumed name with a woman who was unaware of his true identity or what he was wanted for, according to police.
