Sacramento man sentenced to nearly 20 years for fentanyl, meth trafficking
SACRAMENTO — A Sacramento man was sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine, prosecutors said Thursday.
In April 2022, Michael Valentino Lovato, 35, conspired to distribute more than 400 grams of fentanyl and more than 500 grams of meth in California's capital city, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of California said.
There were multiple instances where Lovato sold the drugs to undercover investigators.
A judge on Thursday handed Lovato a sentence of 19 years and 10 months behind bars.
A co-defendant, Gilbert Ramirez, is also facing similar charges, prosecutors said. However, those charges against Ramirez, also of Sacramento, remain pending.
