Sacramento Kings Finish First Half Twice After Officials Blow Call

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Sacramento Kings had to finish the first half twice on Tuesday night.

Officials made an incorrect call that should have sent DeMarcus Cousins to the free throw line. The foul was called, but officials did not count it as the New Orleans Pelicans' fifth team foul.

If it had been called correctly, Cousins would have shot two free throws.

Under NBA rules, if a call like this is made at the end of the half, referees can bring the teams back out to replay the remaining time.

Once the teams came back out from the half, 18.9 seconds were put on the clock, and Cousins hit two free throws. The half ended without any more points and after a short break, the third quarter started.
