SACRAMENTO COUNTY – A two-alarm house fire in south Sacramento saw firefighters rushing into action to stop the flames from spreading to other homes.

Metro Fire of Sacramento crews responded to the scene on Ivy Creek Drive just before 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Due to the intensity of the flames, firefighters called for a second alarm response.

Everyone got out of the house safely, but firefighters say a resident did run back inside to rescue a dog. No injuries have been reported.

Crews were able to keep the flames from spreading out of the original home that caught fire.

While this incident ended with no one getting hurt, firefighters urge people to stay out of the situation once they've made it out of a threatening situation.

Exactly what started the fire is still under investigation. The extent of the damage is also unclear.
