Sacramento Couple Suspected Of Crimes In California, Colorado
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - Authorities in California believe a man and woman being held in Sacramento are linked to 11 armed robberies and other crimes in California and Colorado.
The Daily Sentinel reports that 33-year-old Michael Angelo Ortiz and 28-year-old Chanzie Kristina Cox of Sacramento are awaiting extradition to Grand Junction, Colorado, where they're suspected in a Christmas Eve hold up of an Outback Steakhouse. It wasn't clear if they have lawyers.
Colorado authorities also identified Ortiz and Cox as suspects in the robberies of restaurants in Silverthorne and Durango in December after a statewide alert to law enforcement about the robbery in Grand Junction.
There investigators say Ortiz sat down at a table around closing time, asked to speak with a manager and then allegedly took $2,000 from the office.
