Sacramento Blue Star Moms Preparing 500 Boxes For Service Members Overseas

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Blue Star Moms are packing 500 boxes to send to service members stationed abroad.

The moms collect items and fundraise throughout the year to send care packages to troops with a taste of home.

Each package includes snacks, candy, socks, books and a handwritten message thanking them for their service.

"They love them. Just the little touch of home makes their deployment so much easier," said Kimberly Steinman Eomquist. "It lets them know we're thinking about them and lets them know we care."
