Sacramento Arena Supporter Robocall Notifies Of Option To Remove Signatures From STOP Petition
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Supporters of the new Sacramento Kings downtown arena made a full court press, sending a robocall to 110,000 area homes Saturday.
"This is Michael Ault, president and CEO of the Downtown Partnership. We need your help," the recording states in part.
The group Downtownarena.org sent the call. It told people, if they signed the STOP petition to put the proposed arena up to a vote, then they can still sign a petition withdrawal form to cancel their signatures.
"We wanted to make sure to get out the message to voters that they had the opportunity to do that; and, there's so many ways to do that, and we wanted to go directly to the voters in their houses," said Joshua Wood, Downtownarena.org.
The call was sent to slightly more than half of all homes within Sacramento city limits.
