Sacramento Airport Therapy Dogs Help Travelers Lower Stress
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Certified therapy dogs are now walking the terminals twice a week to help travelers lower their stress.
The dogs will be wearing navy blue vests that say "Pet Me." It's part of a new effort to make the airport experience more enjoyable.
"Everyone gets stressed out traveling because crazy things happen, it just like releases so much stress and it makes me so happy so I mean I love it ! I think it's a great idea," said Ariel Kanable.
Airport officials say they received several requests from travelers to provide therapy dogs, after seeing them at other airports.
There are 30 airports across the country that offers this service. LAX started its therapy dog program in April of 2013, the airport has 30 dogs in its program.
San Francisco and the Reno-Tahoe airport also started therapy dog programs in 2013.
