Sacramento Sheriff's Deputy Injured In Crash
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A Sacramento County Sheriff's deputy and the passenger of another car were injured after their vehicles collided in North Highlands Tuesday morning.
With lights flashing and sirens blaring, the deputy was headed northbound on Don Julio Boulevard passing Antelope Road when the side of his vehicle was hit by an Acura, according to Sheriff's department spokesperson, Deputy Jason Ramos.
The deputy was headed to a burglary in progress at the time of the crash. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Acura, who had the right-of-way, also had minor injuries.
One of the burglary suspects was arrested and a second got away on foot. Authorities say the crash did not jeopardize the response to the burglary.
