Roseville Police Called Back Out To Home Of Accused Basketball Academy President
ROSEVILLE (CBS13) - Roseville police on Friday were called back out to the home where a man is accused of abusing players enrolled in his fledgling basketball academy.
The police department responded to a reported disturbance between Francis Ngissah and the landlord of his home on Woodleaf Circle.
Steve Putnam told the Sacramento Bee he is in the process of evicting Ngissah, claiming he owes $21,000 in back rent and hasn't paid anything since September.
On Jan. 8, four students of Ngissah's CCSE Preparatory Academy told police that they had been forced to stand in a corner, restrained with zip ties, and sometimes had clothespins clamped on their nipples as punishment.
They were enrolled in the academy, an organization advertised as a private college preparatory school for basketball athletes that listed Nigissah as the school president, and were boarding with Ngissah at his home.
Ngissah was arrested on suspicion of child abuse involving cruel corporal punishment and willful cruelty, battery and false imprisonment. He was released on $100,000 bond. His next scheduled court date is March 12 in Placer County Superior Court.
