Roseville Mother Barred From Attending Daughter's Funeral

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) - A Roseville mother under investigation after her 2-year-old daughter was found dead in her care has been barred from attending the girl's funeral.

Mark Wilder successfully petitioned for a temporary restraining order against his ex-wife, Denise Wilder, 37. earlier this week in Placer County Superior Court.

The order issued Monday states that Denise Wilder must stay 500 feet away from any memorial or funeral for her daughter McKinley, who was found dead at her grandparents' Roseville home on April 4. The order also protects Mark Wilder and the couple's other daughter, 5, and gives him access to the children's property not deemed evidence in the homicide investigation.

A statement signed by Mark Wilder on the restraining order says: "We know that McKinley had been dead long enough for decomposition to begin. And, finally, we know that petitioner never called 911 for help despite having hours - perhaps days -to do so."

Denise Wilder was arrested on suspicion of homicide but released from custody on Monday. The District Attorney's Office says it is waiting on autopsy results for the toddler before deciding on charges against her mother, who police say was drunk when they responded to the home in the 300 block of Diamond Oaks Road and found the child unresponsive.

The couple's other daughter, 5, is now in the custody of Mark Wilder. A custody hearing set for Wednesday has been rescheduled for April 19. Denise Wilder's next criminal court appearance is scheduled for May 8.
