Roseville Man Pleads Guilty To Two Bank Robberies
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A Roseville man pleaded guilty Thursday to two bank robberies committed in the past three months, according to U.S. Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner.
Paul Michael Schmeer, 30, pleaded guilty to robbing a Roseville branch of Chase Bank on Douglas Boulevard Dec. 5 and a Chase Bank on E Street in Davis on Jan. 5.
According to court documents, Schmeer left the Roseville bank with $4,000 and the Davis bank with $5,070.
He was caught because he was captured on bank surveillance cameras. As part of his plea agreement, Schmeer has agreed to pay restitution for both robberies. He is currently in federal custody pending sentencing.
Schmeer is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Morrison C. England Jr. on May 31, 2012. He faces up to 40 years in federal prison.
