Roseville Galleria Arsonist Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison
ROSEVILLE (CBS13) -- Alexander Piggee, the man convicted of setting the Roseville Galleria fire , has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Once released, 23-year-old Piggee will be have six years of supervised release.
The sentence that was agreed upon by the prosecution, the defense and probation was 10 years; however, due of the seriousness of the crime, the Judge John A. Mendez gave Piggee the harsher sentence.
Mendez also said that Piggee's sentence would not be downgraded because Piggee faked mental illness, according to his psychiatric evaluation.
Piggee set the mall fire and a fire at a Walmart on Antelope road on October 21, 2010. He confessed to both crimes.
The Wal-Mart fire caused only minor damage, but loss from the Galleria fire is estimated to be more than $55 million.
