Bank Robbery Suspect Chased From Roseville To Davis
DAVIS (CBS13) – A bank robbery suspect led officers on a chase from Roseville to Davis on Friday.
The incident started a little before noon along the 2000 block of Douglas Boulevard.
Roseville police say the robber got away with money. At some point, Roseville police started chasing the suspect. California Highway Patrol took over the chase when it got on the freeway. The suspect made it all the way to Davis before the chase ended.
For those who live in the quiet Davis neighborhood, it was not only shocking but a little unnerving Friday afternoon.
"Just heard a bunch of cops pull up and a couple of them had their sirens on," Brandon Pengelli said.
It's a sight those who call this area home just aren't used to. Cops canvased their neighborhood looking for the bank robbery suspect they say brandished a handgun.
"Recently we've been noticing here in Davis it's been a little frisky with a lot of cops roaming around," resident Dishant Pujara said.
That suspect left a BMW for officers to find and ran from the scene. It wasn't long before officers caught up with them and took them into custody.
Neighbors say they're happy that this person was arrested and now off the streets, which police credit thanks to a collaborative effort between multiple agencies.
