Occupy Protest Follows 123rd Annual Rose Parade
PASADENA (AP) — An anti-Wall Street demonstration that dovetailed with the Rose Parade has ended peacefully.
No arrests were made during Monday's march and rally by hundreds of people who called themselves Occupy the Rose Parade.
They carried a huge banner and a 70-foot-long octopus made from recycled plastic bags. The march began on the heels of the two-hour Tournament of Roses. Demonstrators followed the parade route for about 1 1/2 miles before veering off to rally for several hours near City Hall.
Some remaining Rose Parade spectators booed the protesters but others cheered and took pictures.
There was a heavy police presence but no confrontations took place.
